RM ONLINE MEMBER STORY - georgia

GEORGIA FINLAYSON

AGE: 25

Bundanoon, Southern Highlands.

1) What is your passion outside of work?

My biggest passion is singing and performing. I have been in a band since 2016 and it is my favourite thing to do.

2) Tell us what your personal strengths are?

I am a very out-going and social creature. I have a lot of love for my family and friends and am very empathetic. I like to think I am fairly positive about life most of the time.

3) What do you love most about yourself?

Well, as with most humans, especially women, it can he hard to look at yourself through the 'love lens'... but, I love my ability to love others and forgive others. A lot of people have told me this is sometimes an area of weakness for me, but I think it's a rare quality in people and one that others appreciate, too.

4) Can you share with us something about yourself that not many people know?

This is a hard question, as I am fairly open about who I am, but I can share something that lots of people are still surprised by. I am partially deaf in my left ear due to a disease that I had when I was young. I had 4 operations and have been clear of this disease since 2005. My loss of hearing is something that I don't really notice but my close friends always know I need to walk on their left side to save repeating every sentence they say.. haha.

5) How long have you been an RM ONLINE Member?

I have been an RM Online member since Rachelle started this platform back in 2020 during covid. I am forever grateful, as we all know, covid really threw us off balance and I was feeling very down about myself and unsure about how I could keep myself accountable to putting my mental and physical health first.

6) How have you changed after becoming an RM ONLINE Member?

RM Online has changed me in many ways. The most obvious change I noticed after my first 5 weeks was my body clock had changed from a night owl to an early bird. I now start most days at 6am with a workout or a yoga flow and I find my day runs more smoothly and I don't have any excuses not to be active. I have also had a shift in my mindset on what 'healthy' really looks like for a woman my age and I am grateful to Rachelle and the other RM girls for their help in this shift of thinking.

7) What do you love most about RM ONLINE?

RM Online has so many perks but I love that it is supportive, first and foremost. You'll often hear Rachelle say 'we show up and just do what we can' and this really resonates with me because we can't be pumped and ready to workout or be active everyday. It's okay to take it slow, too. I love the variety of workouts, yoga flows and meditations at my fingertips and I especially love our bonus live training over ZOOM twice a week, where all of the RM members sweat it out together from home. It's a wonderful community of people from all over.

8) Is there a story you would like to share with us about an experience in life?

Something funny, interesting of something you have overcome?

Gosh, a story. I have many stories, and most of them are from the students I teach at my primary school. In 2021, I am a teacher of some wonderful Year 1 people and they, without a doubt, make everyday a little brighter with their innocence and quirky remarks. One of the little ones this year told me that they were allergic to exercise. I asked why and there response was simply 'it's just so hard, and sweaty, and you it's not really learning'. Luckily, this didn't mess with my motivation to get up at 6am each day for some exercise.

It is humbling to have been able to share some of my stories and energy with the RM world. I hope to read more about the other lovely people I train with online.

Big love 🖤
